I live near the port in my city. The nature of its port varies because it doesn’t receive large ships, export goods, you can’t travel through it either, it’s just a modest port for fishermen, their homes, and their belongings… Also, they have limited access to the sea because of the occupation in the country…This port is my only escape to be alone with my ideas and to freshen my soul from the pressures of daily life, I visit it weekly, and sometimes daily. The ship’s image standing behind the fishermen’s houses provokes me. Also, you can see that grass and plants have started to grow on the sides of the ship, for it can’t sail, just like its owner.. And its fate is to melt under the heat of the sun in summer days and from the rain in winter days too.. As well as the state of misery that is seen on the faces of the fishermen. This scene, which is unfamiliar to the whole world, was the reason for me to make this project that pictures the dramatic, sad scene. Through artistic paintings of different sizes, using the chromatic knife, as well as hot and very cold colors in some paintings. And the contrast between the two cases, in an attempt to mix my feelings and my visual vision of the scene, and reflect them on those ships and that special place for me.
